Shift Manager – Chilled Food Manufacturing

We are looking for an experienced and driven Shift Manager to join our chilled food manufacturing site in Ebbw Vale. Reporting to the Production Manager, you’ll play a key leadership role in delivering safe, efficient, high-quality production while building a positive, high-performing team culture.

Shift Pattern: 06:00–06:00, 4 on 4 off
Location: The Compleat Food Group, Ebbw Vale (Rassau Industrial Estate, NP23 5SD)
Salary: £32,000–£35,000 DOE

What You’ll Be Doing

• Lead and motivate production teams to deliver safe, efficient operations
• Achieve daily targets, KPIs, volumes, and quality standards
• Maximise productivity through effective labour, material, and equipment use
• Ensure compliance with Food Safety, HACCP, GMP, hygiene, and H&S
• Monitor performance and resolve issues quickly
• Drive continuous improvement to reduce waste and downtime
• Manage shift handovers and clear communication
• Coach, train, and develop team members
• Manage attendance, performance, and engagement
• Collaborate with Engineering, Quality, Warehouse, and Planning
• Ensure accurate records and compliance reporting
• Promote safety-first culture and high housekeeping standards

What We’re Looking For

• Experience as Shift Manager / Production Supervisor in food manufacturing
• Knowledge of chilled food production
• Strong understanding of Food Safety, HACCP, GMP, and H&S
• Proven leadership and team management skills
• Strong problem-solving and decision-making ability
• Experience delivering against KPIs and targets
• Relevant Food Safety or H&S qualifications
